Heol Surf School is a “new generation” surf school. Based a stone's throw from the Pointe de la Torche, in Brittany in Finistère, it offers a new concept which consists of surfing in the best place, at the best time. Discover how the school operates according to the season:

Summer and school holidays

The school is based on the beach of Tronoën, in the town of Saint-Jean-Trolimon. We welcome you all day in the car park to accompany and guide you. The Tronoën spot is ideal because it is possible to surf there in summer in all conditions.

Out of season

Do you want to surf all year round? The diversity of Breton spots offers the possibility of surfing in all seasons and all conditions. We find ourselves directly on the best spot according to the weather!

  • What is the opening period of the surf school?
    The surf school is open all year round. Come and discover winter surfing away from the crowds, whether for a surf course or for advanced lessons. We are also open in the summer. With Heol Surf School, you can surf in Brittany all year round on the most famous spots such as La Torche, Tronoën, Pors Carn ...
  • From what age can you surf?
    From 4 years old if the child is dynamic and comfortable in the water. If the child does not know how to swim, it will be preferable to turn to the "private lesson" formula so that the session can take place in optimal safety conditions. Also we have created the Mini-Kids formula, especially for children from 4 to 7 years old, in groups of 3 students maximum to ensure fun and safety.
  • Do I need to bring my own surf gear?
    No, we provide all the necessary equipment, including boards, wetsuits, leashes and accessories (gloves, booties, balaclavas) adapted to each person. However, if you prefer to use your own material, you are free to do so.
  • What is the number of students during group surf lessons?
    In order to ensure quality, we have chosen to limit our lessons to 6 people for the instructor in group lessons. For private lessons it depends on you. Then we provide lessons for children (Mini-kids formula) for a maximum of 3.
  • Can you surf all year round despite the water temperature?
    Yes, because we provide full wetsuits (4/3mm in summer, 5/3mm in winter) as well as top-of-the-range accessories (gloves, slippers, balaclavas, etc.) We make it a point of honor to equip the students with the same quality of equipment as their instructor, for optimal comfort in all seasons.
  • Should I take out insurance?
    Liability insurance is included in the price of the session.
  • Where is the surf school located?
    During the summer, surf lessons take place on Tronoën beach, a stone's throw from Pointe de la Torche and Pors Carn. The rest of the year, the school is itinerant. Thus the instructor will choose the most appropriate spot, according to the weather conditions, but also your level.Namely, the instructor may have to change the surf spot to ensure the quality of the lesson.
  • Can you surf with a disability?
    Yes, my many experiences as an adapted surf instructor have given me the expertise and experience required to allow you to surf and progress in optimal safety conditions. If you are in this situation, do not hesitate to contact us so that we can discuss your expectations.
